Trekking in Morocco
Explore the M’Goun mountain range and reach the summit at 4,071m
The departure point for this trek, the Ait Bougumez valley, the Happy Valley, is 250km east of Marrakech. Accessible via a new tarmac road, the way of life and traditions here remain unchanged and the villages are an example of the most beautiful architecture in the Atlas Mountains.
There are many rivers in this valley which makes it very fertile. Crops cultivated in terraced rows give way to fields and make this region one of the greenest in the Atlas Mountains and the contrast with the stony slopes of the summits is striking. During this trek we will cross valleys sprinkled with “kasbah”, a type of walled farm and one of the best parts of this trip is the contact we have with an authentic Berber civilisation. The ascent of M’Goun at 4,071m is the highlight of the trek.
