Jean Marc Kaufmann

I was born on August 1st 1955 and have been passionate about the mountains and traveling from an early age.

After completing my military service at the Chamonix High Mountain Military School, in 1978 I began training to become a mountain guide.

I became a fully-qualified guide in 1982 and from that moment on, I've spent my life exploring mountains all over the planet in search of the most wild and unspoiled natural environments.

Over the years, I've explored the French, Italian, Swiss and Austrian Alps and also Nepal, Peru, Bolivia, Alaska, Kenya, Tanzania, Morocco, Turkey, Norway and Greenland.

During these travels I have enjoyed climbing, mountaineering, skiing off-piste, ski touring and trekking.

I am still just as enthusiastic as ever about my job as a guide and love the fact that I can share my passion for the great outdoors with my clients - many of whom have become good friends after as many as 25 years of shared adventures.

In the winter of 2000, I began working as part of the TOP SKI team in Val d’Isère - a ski school, with is 24 ski instructors and is secretary Clara, is specialised in off-piste skiing, ski touring and heli-skiing.

Since 2010 I have the pleasure and the honor to be the managing director of TOP SKI and shareholder of the company «TOP SKI - VAL EVASION».
